Bylvay® (odevixibat)
Bylvay is a non-systemic ileal bile acid transport inhibitor (IBATi), it acts locally in the distal ileum to decrease the re-uptake of bile acids (primarily the salt forms) and increase the clearance of bile acids through the colon, reducing the concentration of bile acids in the serum. Bylvay treats:
- Progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC) in patients aged 6 months or older
- Cholestatic pruritus in Alagille syndrome (ALGS) in patients aged 6 months or older
