Internationally renowned R&D centers
With an open innovation model in mind, we have placed our three R&D centres at the heart of three internationally reputed scientific hubs: Paris-Saclay in France, Oxford in the United Kingdom and Cambridge in the United States, in contact with leading academic research centers, medical centers and biotechnology companies.
We make sure we access the best information and opportunities provided through external networks; the partnerships that we develop through the surrounding scientific ecosystems contribute strongly to our R&D success.
The R&D center at Les Ulis is located in the Paris-Saclay hub which is home to several thousand life sciences researchers. Ipsen’s innovation teams are housed in a high-tech environment, in close contact with major scientific and academic institutions, such as Ecole Polytechnique, the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) and the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
One of the missions of Ipsen’s largest R&D site, established in 1969, is to accelerate clinical development and fundamental research to deepen our understanding of molecular, pharmacological, pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties of new molecules in oncology, neurology and rare diseases.
Aligned with our open innovation strategy, Ipsen teamed up with Aepodia in a partnership signed in January 2016 covering early-stage development programs in R&D. Aepodia are providing expertise in early clinical development and in the implementation of Phase I studies up to proof of concept (POC). Aepodia and Ipsen teams are working together to optimize the design of clinical studies and their operational implementation.
